More abdul-jabbar memorabilia set for auction

The liquidation of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s basketball memorabilia isn’t quite over yet.

After selling another large group of items from his Hall of Fame career last winter to benefit his Skyhook Foundation, Abdul-Jabbar has consigned 64 additional items to Goldin Auctions.  Most are focused on his days as a college superstar at UCLA when he was known as Lew Alcindor.  They’ll be part of an auction set to open this Sunday.

Abdul-Jabbar’s letter jacket, a pair of UCLA championship rings, his Naismith Trophy and NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player trophy are among the items in the auction.

“Goldin Auctions has been fortunate to offer countless player collections over the years,” said Ken Goldin Founder of Goldin Auctions. “But having an opportunity to work with what many consider to be the pinnacle of the sport in Kareem has truly been an honor and we look forward to another successful auction come October.”
